Resources for our Dental Patients

Patient Resources

Thank you for choosing Dr. Watson’s office for your smile. Our goal is to help you feel heard, comfortable, and cared for in our office while also providing the best possible care tailored to your dental needs because every person is unique and so is their smile.

Our office is a judgement-free area, we know that sometimes life gets busy and years might go by in-between visits. We are here to help you get the smile that you want and deserve, whether that is cosmetic and ortho or dental implants. Whether you are just coming in for an emergency or want us to see your whole family, we look forward to making you smile! When you arrive for your first visit, we ask that you please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. If you have already filled out the paperwork that was sent to you, please just come in 5 to 10 minutes early. You will be greeted by a member of our team who will check you in and make sure your records are up to date and scanned in. We will then bring you to your room and introduce you to the hygienist.

Most new patient appointments will be about an hour long and will consist of any necessary x-rays and a thorough examination. We believe that good dental care begins with open communication. We will discuss with you any symptoms present that may require further dental treatment, our diagnosis, alternative treatments that may exist, and our recommendations. This visit helps us to find out your goals and desires for your smile and how we can help. If you are more of a visual learner (like I am) we take intraoral pictures so you can see just what we are talking about. If you are coming in for a dental emergency as your first visit, we will talk about your concerns and will do our best to address that issue the same day. An additional appointment or a referral to a specialist might be required.

As a thank you for choosing our office we offer our new patients free in-house teeth whitening trays. If you have any treatment, we will make the trays for you after the work is done. Just let us know at your first visit that you are interested in the free whitening.

Dental Insurance Options

Patient ResourcesOur office in Millcreek, UT is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits.

Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid as per the contract agreement.

As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them. If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Many insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is distinct from regular dental insurance. Insurance policies vary, so we will review your insurance to determine the appropriate course of action.

Once treatment has started, we will file your claims. To help us with your insurance filing, please complete the insurance questions on our New Patient Registration Forms. Michael Watson Dental in Millcreek, UT accepts most insurance plans. Please have your insurance information accessible when scheduling your first appointment - that way we can verify your insurance benefits and minimize your out-of-pocket expense! Please bring your insurance card and information to your consultation dental appointment.
